Hollaaa everyone! I’m back with some beauty tips you might want to know & tell your friends about! If you didn’t know already, Coconut Oil is rich in fatty acids, the beneficial effect of which shows itself both when taken by mouth and used externally. It’s naturally antibacterial and antifungal, coconut oil for skin is an excellent moisturizer, it can penetrate hair better than other oils, and, well, it smells like cookies. xP
Skin softener. Use the oil to soften skin on elbows, heels, and around the nails. Especially if you have dry skin, coconut oil is a very good moisturizer!
Body scrub. Mix a tablespoon of coconut oil and a tablespoon of ground coffee. Coffee is used as an abrasive agent, but you can replace it with finely ground sea salt, sugar, grits, or coconut shavings. If you have some on hand, add in five drops of your favorite essential oil or some pure vanilla extract for a scrub so fragrant you’ll want to eat it.
Nail hardener. To deal with brittle and dry nails, apply the oil to the nail plate. This is really useful for me, as I paint my nails very often, my nail gets more brittle & easier to chip off. Coconut oil helps a lot!
Lip balm. The oil moistens and rejuvenates the skin of the lips, heals cracks, and prevents their further appearance. I use coconut oil as an alternative to Vaseline. Both are just as useful but I love the smell of coconut oil more. =D
A dandruff remedy. Coconut oil moistens your scalp and cures dandruff. Apply it to hair roots, and leave overnight. Another way to use it is to smooth a tiny amount of organic coconut oil onto your ends of your hair to add a little shine, or on flyaways if you have dark hair. Remember that a dab will do you: Any more and your hair might appear greasy. Less is more people!
Eye cream. Before going to bed, apply coconut oil around the eyes. If you do it systematically, you’ll soon notice the reduction of wrinkles in this area. Skip those expensive over the counter brands.. go natural!
Moisturizing lotion. This product moistens your skin and takes care of it better than any other oil. Wipe your face every day with a sponge moistened with the oil. To avoid skin stretching, move along massage lines. P/S: Remember, Less is more!
To remove eye makeup. Yes, coconut oil even works on waterproof mascara! Put a little of the coconut oil on a cotton ball and gently sweep it over your eyes, paying attention to your under-eyes as well. The oil does a great job breaking down waxy, inky eye makeup, and leaves the delicate area hydrated, too. Once you’re done, wash your face as usual.
As a cheekbone highlighter. Nothing perks up a tired face like a little highlighter, but you don’t need store-bought products to achieve the same effect. Simply sweep a small amount of organic coconut oil on top of makeup and leave it alone. It looks like your skin but more glowy! which is why many natural makeup brands use it as a base ingredient in their formulas.
To shave your legs. Conventional shaving cream is an expensive cocktail of chemicals that you don’t need to get a nice clean shave on your legs or underarms. Coconut oil, on the other hand, is inexpensive, naturally antimicrobial, and smells divine. Plus, its skin-soothing properties will leave your legs looking hydrated (but never greasy).
That’s all for the uses of coconut oil for beauty! Stay tunes for part 2 where I give more uses of Coconut oil. If you are interested in getting one, I manage to find one selling with 40% discount off. You can check it out here.
